What Is The Developer's Resource Guide?

This guide provides relevant information on leading edge & emerging designs to reduce costs and achieve greater performance on investments.

The Developer's Resource Guide (DRG) was created as part of the Hinton Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) project.  It is a companion to the park's new land use zoning, and development guidelines.  This guide contains photos, illustrations, case studies and other resources to give an idea of the type of development envisioned for the Hinton EIP. The guide will help interested developers meet the required and recommended design strategies.

Who Is This Guide For?

This resource guide is for landowners and developers and building professionals interested in the Hinton EIP. The guide will give developers, designers, contractors, engineers, and business partners a good knowledge of green building, eco-industrial networking (EIN) and related leading edge building practices to reduce costs.

What Is In The Guide?

The guide provides up-to-date information, and practical demonstrations, of how efficient technologies and design strategies for the Hinton EIP can increase return on investment for building projects. Examples from Canadian practice, and methods relevant to Canada are provided throught the guide. Attention is also given to quantifiable cost savings, and comparisons with the status quo are presented wherever possible.

The guide addresses the entire building process to ensure maximum benefit for developers and land owners, and includes sections on:
